The DLF LPL Tournament got off to a spectacular start in Bangalore on April 18, and while the action on the ground is heating up, media partners of the various Indian Premier League (IPL) teams are busy whipping up some frenzy on air. Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings routed out Team Mohali in their opening IPL match, and Radio One couldn’t be happier.
India Cements Ltd, owner of the Chennai IPL franchise, has chosen Radio One Chennai as its radio partner. The FM station has taken up the mantle of being the team’s chief cheerleader and has lined up some interesting and innovative content around the Chennai Super Kings team, including a cheering campaign by celebrities and listeners, special IPL capsules from BBC, cricket quizzes, besides free match tickets and merchandise through various contests.
