It would be foolish of me to suggest that those of my colleagues who want to sign up for next season’s Indian Premier League are not first and foremost tempted by the chance to make some big bucks. Everyone knows just how lucrative the offers from Indian franchises to Freddie Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen and others have been.
