War of Knights - SRK vs Ganguly

Rift between Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan and skipper Sourav Ganguly is being reported in TimesNOW website. All is not well between the two after the sudden dip in the performance levels reportedly upset the King Khan.

Reasons:
1. SRK and Ganguly have conflicting opinions over various issues like team selection, team combination and player selection.
2. Ganguly has been unhappy right from the beginning of the season right from the auction, where SRK and Buchanan did not pay much heed to Sourav’s suggestions.
3. Shahrukh’s faith in coach John Buchanan that saw him giving more powers to the Australian in team issues surpassing Ganguly.
4. King Khan further upset Ganguly by announcing that Buchanan would be taking control of the team next season.
5. SRK wanted Ganguly to speak to West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and try and get it abolished. But Ganguly, who is known to be close to the CM and the ruling party, refused to oblige.
6. Ganguly wanted Adam Gilchrist in the team as wicket-keeper and opening batsman while Buchanan impressed upon SRK to bid for Brendon McCullum to fill the slot.
7. Ganguly and Buchanan differed over the Pakistan pacer’s inclusion in the Rajasthan game. Buchanan was adamant that Shoaib is unfit while Ganguly wanted him to play.

Coach vs Captain and Captain vs Owner… Who should have more rights in buying the players, team composition etc.

  1. Saurabh is a best captain in IPL & he has a good team in IPL but he has failed in term of individual performance & also failed to present his player as a TEAM. Where is a TIGER I think now he has really a old man.

    A fan of Bengal Tiger

  3. i think players & team management are matured enough to take up things in a more lighter way as both failure and success is a part of a game especially in this format of game winning &lossing merely depends upon the players performance but in this format of luck p;ays a major role.

  4. I think Shahrukh Khan should not interfere with team matters. The coach should take up responsibility for the team. The team needs one person for accountability, not two!

  5. Who cares? These are overpaid and underperforming people anyway. Both, the owner and the captain, are arrogant and irresponsible. In the final analysis, if the owner knows better then he should shut up and let the professionals run the show. He should sit in the stand and sip on ice-water.

  6. Chak De Night Riders! King Khan might have realized lately that the real play is not as easy as shooting a scene till he satifies. He should keep in mind that he can buy the players but not control (compel) them to succeed.

  8. Ganguly knows better about the game and players…he has proved his strength yesterday by scoring 86 runs n defeating Kings XI. Shahrukh can’t play a lead role as a here also. ;) In his terms… He is the producer now. Not hero… The credit goes to the real heroes, the players in the team not him…
    Its better he understands that!!
