Fresh doubts emerged over England players’ participation in the Indian Premier League after IPL chief Lalit Modi demanded that they play for at least one month in the Twenty20 tournament, according to a report.

Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi has dismissed reports that the second edition of the Twenty20 extravaganza would be co-hosted by England, saying the IPL is a domestic league with global appeal which will be played only on Indian soil.

English players are welcome to join the Indian Premier League, reiterated IPL commissioner Lalit Modi but he insisted that Kevin Pietersen and co will have to commit to at least 15 games in the cash-rich league, failing which no franchise would be interested in having them.
