Indian Premier League’s Chairman Lalit Modi was among the recipients of the ‘CNBC Awaaz Consumer Awards 2008′ for the Twenty20 league’s phenomenal success in its first year of inception. Lalit Modi won the channel’s newly introduced special category award “for transforming cricket in India”.

Lalit Modi appointed chairman of Champions League board

Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi has been appointed chairman of the board of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament scheduled in December. The decision was taken at a meeting of the three founding member boards – the Board of Control for Cricket in India, (BCCI) Cricket Australia (CA) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) here.
