West Indies to host 2010 Twenty20 World Cup

International Cricket Council chief executive Haroon Lorgat announced Saturday that a Twenty20 World Cup would be staged in the West Indies in 2010. A similar tournament will be held in England next June before the rescheduled Champions Trophy.

CRICKET Australia is preparing to stage a franchise-based Twenty20 cricket competition similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL), complete with a host of the world’s best players.
